Pumpkin Peanut Butter Puppy Treats!
If you follow me on instagram you know how much I love my pups! All three of my rescue dogs seem to do best on a fairly natural diet and on treats that don’t have a lot of preservatives or other unnatural ingredients.
These treats were fairly easy, and I was able to use my fun Virginia shaped cookie cutter! While homemade treats will not last as long as store bought treats in most occasions, I was able to store these for weeks in a ziplock bag, and they went pretty fast with three pooches around!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup of all natural peanut butter
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a bowl, stir together the flour and cinnamon
- Add in eggs, pumpkin puree, and peanut butter until well combined.
- Pour onto a floured surface and roll dough out to desired thickness, I believe mine were about 1/4 of an inch. The thicker the cookie the longer the cook time.
- Cut out desired shapes using cookie cutter or knife.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until browned
- Place on cooling racks and let cool thoroughly.
- They will harden as they cool.
