Quick and Easy No Yeast Flatbread

This flatbread recipe has gotten me through several dinner crunches, and is easy to make any day of the week, I typically have all of these ingredients on hand and love being creative with my toppings!

Dough with HerbsIngredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • optional – 2 Tbs assorted herbs and spices
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Mix together the flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Add the herbs and spices, stirring well to evenly distributeRolled out Dough
  4. Add in the oil and water.
  5. Cover your work space or pastry cloth  with a dusting of flour.
  6. Mix dry and wet ingredients together in the bowl, and once a cohesive ball has formed transfer your dough to the floured surface and knead dough for about 5 minutes.
  7. Roll out the dough into the shape you want it to be (square or round). I used a pizza roller to refine my shape for a more finished look if I am entertaining. 
  8. Place prepared dough onto a cookie sheet and bake for approximately 15 minutes, and remove from the oven to add whatever toppings you have prepared. 
  9. Bake for about another 5 minutes, until your toppings are cooked through!
