Quick and Easy No Yeast Flatbread
This flatbread recipe has gotten me through several dinner crunches, and is easy to make any day of the week, I typically have all of these ingredients on hand and love being creative with my toppings!
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- optional – 2 Tbs assorted herbs and spices
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
- Mix together the flour, baking powder and salt.
- Add the herbs and spices, stirring well to evenly distribute
- Add in the oil and water.
- Cover your work space or pastry cloth with a dusting of flour.
- Mix dry and wet ingredients together in the bowl, and once a cohesive ball has formed transfer your dough to the floured surface and knead dough for about 5 minutes.
- Roll out the dough into the shape you want it to be (square or round). I used a pizza roller to refine my shape for a more finished look if I am entertaining.
- Place prepared dough onto a cookie sheet and bake for approximately 15 minutes, and remove from the oven to add whatever toppings you have prepared.
- Bake for about another 5 minutes, until your toppings are cooked through!
