Overnight Easy French Toast

This french toast is delicious, and practically makes itself. Just throw it in the fridge the night before you want to make it and pop it in the oven the next morning. While the cook time is lengthy, it is well worth the outcome! Enjoy for an easy brunch that gets rave reviews!

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf challah bread
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbs your favorite maple syrup
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1 Tbs cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Cut bread loaf into about slightly smaller than an inch thick slices.
  2. Spread softened butter evenly over one cut side of each bread slice.
  3. Arrange bread, butter side up, in an ungreased 13- x 9-inch baking dish.
  4. Whisk together eggs and next 5 ingredients; pour over bread, pressing slices down.
  5. Sprinkle cinnamon lightly over bread.
  6. Cover and chill 8 hours.
  7. Remove bread slices from baking dish, and place on two lightly greased baking sheets.
  8. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45 minutes or until golden.
